“Can I take the exam after completing the 10 lessons?”
That is absolutely correct. ✅
All materials and assignments at KidsTHEORY are designed based on the exam format and are exclusively written and published by teachers with extensive teaching experience. Unlike conventional courses that follow official textbooks from Grades 1 to 5 page-by-page, we take a more efficient approach. Frankly, many chapters in those books are not required for the Grade 5 exam; spending 20 or 30 sessions on them is unnecessary. We teach from the ground up, moving from simple to complex to ensure students build a solid foundation in music theory. Therefore, if a student performs well on their assignments, they will have sufficient ability to pass the exam after just these 10 lessons. Our past students’ results serve as proof.
Of course, we recommend that students complete at least five past papers after the course to assess their exam readiness and improve their answering speed before registering for the exam. Since music theory exams no longer have fixed dates, there is no rush—it is best to register only when you are confident in passing.
As we suggest that students should consistently score over 60 marks (out of 75) in their practice exams to ensure a pass (the passing mark is 50/75), our pass rate is 100%, with over half of our students achieving distinction.
